Sound Construction
Sonoro’s highly accomplished professional singers, who are also experienced animateurs, present a morning workshop exploring how the music we present is related to buildings around the world in which it was originally performed. From a beautiful piece of early church music that would have been performed in Westminster Abbey, via bridges (over troubled water…) to the Sydney Opera House the Sonoro team will present a fun, informative and engaging morning of singing.
In the afternoon, there will be an exploration of the musical experience with an art and design specialist. Initial drawings, made in response to music, will be developed to create watercolour paintings representing “troubled waters”. During a second art workshop, scheduled to suit the school, bridges will be constructed from card and decorative materials, using a range of construction and joining techniques.
